The U.S. Marines are trying prove that women are not fit for combat. And they’re right, of course.
This, from a recent Christian Science Monitor article:

The three women who qualified for the Marine Corps’s Infantry Officers Course were physically disqualified last week. No woman has successfully completed the course.

The story goes on to mention that– oh yea– the whole platoon failed to pass the test, but the three women, and three other men, were disqualified for good. The women, it turns out, are part of an “experiment” by the Marines (that thought alone is enough to make one shudder) to see if women can indeed be made “combat ready.”
The conclusion, of course: Nope, women can’t handle it.
Which is absolutely true, and very understandable. The truth is that NO HUMAN BEING–MALE OR FEMALE–IS FIT FOR COMBAT, just as no pig is fit to fly.
I’ve written about that previously, as can be found here. Grandmothers and grandfathers are not suited for combat. Gay people are not suited for combat. Straight people are not suited for combat.
The assumption that some people– some genders– are suited for combat while others are not is based on a mindset that ignores the basic integrity of all human life. We at DAMMM refuse to ignore basic human integrity, regardless of these obviously biased, misogynistic, 19th Century experiments being run by the U.S. Marines.
